Rumpelstiltskin
The Grimm fairy tale of Rumpelstiltskin, told with life-size puppets by a life-size narrator.
For children and for adults aged 4 and up.
The miller is a loudmouth, can do anything, carries the heavy sacks with one hand, knows everyone and everything, and his daughter can even spin straw into gold - at least that’s what he tells the king. The king is delighted, because he has plenty of straw, but no gold.
“Send your daughter to my castle; there she shall spin straw into gold. If she succeeds, all is well. If she doesn’t, she must die.” That’s how it goes in fairy tales.
“I can’t do that at all,” says the miller’s daughter. “Well, you’ve got yourself into this mess, now you’ll have to get through it,” says the miller. In the castle, already on the verge of despair, a little man appears and offers to spin the straw into gold for the miller’s daughter. But nothing in this world is free, of course, because the little man naturally wants something in return for his help. Whether he gets what he wants and helps the miller’s daughter is best found out in the theatre...
